OLD GLORY IN EVERYDAY AMERICA

This is my humble tribute to my American friends on this special day when they celebrate America and the values upon which she was built. They know my harsh words come from love and care for this once great nation that means so much to us all.

If the author of the Declaration of Independence were to utter such a sentiment today, the Post Office Department could exclude him from the mail, grand juries could indict him for sedition and criminal syndicalism, legislative committees could seize his private papers ~~ and United States Senators would be clamoring for his deportation that he should be sent back to live with the rest of the terrorists. ~ Frank I. Cobb

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.
~ Thomas Jefferson

I love America because America trusts me. When I go into a shop to buy a pair of shoes, I am not asked to produce my Identity Card. I love it because my mail is not censored. My phone is not tapped. My conversation with friends is not reported to the secret police. ~ Janina Atkins

I like the sound of democracy. ~ James Buchanan

When I took the oath of office, it wasn't to my party or the President. It was to the Constitution. ~ Tom Tancredo

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.~ Dwight D. Eisenhower

Without debate, without criticism, no administration and no country can succeed ~~ and no republic can survive. ~ John F. Kennedy

One survey found that ten percent of Americans thought Joan of Arc was Noah's wife. ~ Robert Whitney Boynton

It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificually induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear.
~ General Arthur Douglas McArthur

I love Americans, but not when they try to talk French.
What a blessing it is that they never try to talk English. ~ Saki

A right is not what someone gives you; it's what no one can take from you.
~ Ramsey Clark, U S Attorney General

Be not intimidated nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice. ~ John Adams

I love the United States, but I see here everything is measured by success, by how much money it makes, not the the satisfaction to the individual.
~ John Fellows Akers

~ Henry Ford

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.
~ Thomas Jefferson

A citizen of America will cross the ocean to fight for democracy, but won't cross the street to vote in a national election. ~ Bill Vaughan

Democracy--rule by the people--sounds like a fine thing; we should try it sometime in America. ~ Edward Abbey

The Constitution of the United States is not a mere lawyers' document; it is a vehicle of life, and its spirit is always the spirit of the age. ~ Nadia Boulanger

Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels - men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, we may never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.

Happy America Day to all of my Southern Neighbours. I hope from this tribute to your people, you realize it is not AMERICA that I have been accused of hating. America was built on the soundest, the highest and most ethical of intentions. The people are awesome. It is with those who subvert you, who intend you harm, that I have my "beef".

Please, my friends, as of this auspicious date, vow today to be true to
AMERICAN VALUES, break free and return to your glorious roots.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY !!
