EGYPT OPENS RAFAH BORDER CROSSING ONE WAY

Egyptian authorities decided yesterday to reopen Rafah crossing in one way to allow the return of hundreds of stranded Palestinians from Egypt to Gaza Strip.

Ayoub Abu Sha’r, Rafah crossing director, said to Safa News Agency “ Rafah crossing will be opened starting from Friday till the coming days from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.”

“Talks are underway to reopen Rafah crossing permanently after three days.” Gahzi Hamad, Palestinian Government Spokesman, said.

The Palestinian authority ambassador to Egypt, Barakat el-Farrah, announced that Rafah crossing will be opened in one direction for a few days to allow the  transfer of all stranded. Pointing out, the embassy demanded to open Rafah crossing in both directions in order to facilitate the movement for medical treatment or education .

It’s noteworthy that hundreds of Palestinians were affected by the closure of Rafah border crossing which is the only entrance into Gaza Strip due to  Egyptian revolution erupted 25th of January  led to the overthrow of the dictator president Hosni Mubarak .
