TODAY'S IMAGE: MAY 15, 2012

Flowers from my sister-in-law's beautiful garden.

Photographer, me.
Not the greatest art on the planet, but, I love doing and sharing it.

Please enlarge, some get quite huge and I already have reduced most considerably, as in down to 1/5 of the original size.

For more photos from the garden, please go here.

  1. wonderful photography, Noor! I really like your sister's pond, I am thinking to do one like it. Right. I have been saying that for 7 years. I even bought a pond turtle thinking I would surely have that pond for him soon. He is humongous now and I have upgraded his aquarium 4 times. Well there are some obstacles where the pond is concerned, like, I have these massive pine trees in the back. I think I can either have the trees or the pond but not both because of the pine needle mess. I thought I would think of a way sooner or later but never have. Gosh, that is just the pond I had in mind, too. *sigh* well you took wonderful photos and the garden is lovely!

  2. I am laughing about your poor turtle. LOL at Beacon Hill Park there are regular turtle culls because they get too big for their tanks after a few years. I must admit, I was given two huge critters years ago and contributed to the population.

My sister has goldfish and koi in the pool. At one point the king koi was over 2 feet long, his followers not so much smaller. Then along came the heron who was unafraid of the dogs..... Poor "Whale" as we fondly called him did not survive the attack, nor did his buddies.

She threw in a few goldfish and because of our climate, now they are legion in there. It is what they call a "natural" pond. Took her a few years to find the right spot and then one summer that was the project for the University garden boy to tackle with her.

I love the dragon flies it attracts.

We also held my Mom's 90th celebration there and had elegantly set tables all around the pool. (And a squadron of fit adults to help the old dears move about just in case of balance problems.)

Those white flowers, btw, are almost a foot across! So are the big pink ones. Just HUGE! Wait until the roses start to show off!
