The deep public anger in Spain over cuts and debts shows no sign of
abating ~ with further clashes in the capital. Riot police tried to keep
back crowds of hundreds of people, incensed by yet more belt-tightening
approved by the government on Friday. The wage cuts and tax hikes are
in exchange for a Eurozone bailout to save the country's ailing banking
sector. And in Greece ~ which is in the third year of a painful
austerity drive ~ public fury is taking on new forms, as Jacob Greaves
reports. But first, a small collection of images, mainly from Athens.
