OPPONENTS OF BOY SCOUTS’ GAY YOUTHS POLICY TO LAUNCH NEW ‘GODLY’ ALTERNATIVE FOR KIDS

Madonna offers the best reason ever for Rob Green and his associates to create a fresh alternative for healthy young males.  It will be interesting to see how this organization works out. The symbol for the American Heritage Girls is rather Obama-ish in style. The figure is in the classic goddess stance, holding a light aloft, as seen in the Masonic Statue of Liberty.

The Boy Scouts of America’s problems are nowhere near over. With the group’s recent adoption of a new policy on admitting gay youths, critics are hitting back. And the frustration has now led to action. On Tuesday, a national coalition announced the creation of a new alternative group that will focus intently on faith values.

While in its infant stages, the currently unnamed group has an interim executive director and is preparing for its first national conference. Rob Green, who is temporarily running the organization, announced this week that the new organization will work to raise up “godly” men. Many of those individuals who are a part of this coalition, the Christian Post notes, were once associated with the Boy Scouts.

ED Noor: “Boy” Scouts? These look to be fully formed males. Did you EVER see GAY scouts strutting their stuff in special “pride parades” before this latest aggression upon a righteous association was stuffed down the throats of America?

“Our vision is to be the premier national character development organization for young men which produces godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens,” Green said during a conference call on Tuesday.
“The new program will be an exciting and motivating outdoor-based program focused on leadership and character development for boys, and founded on principles and values that reflect a Christian worldview.”
Fifty leaders met on June 29 in Louisville, Kentucky, where they agreed to launch the organization and began to discuss its details. Here’s more about its mission, as stated on OnMyHonor.net (one of its creators):
The new program will be an exciting and motivating outdoor-based program focused on leadership and character development for boys, and founded on principles and values that reflect a Christian worldview.

It will be open to all boys irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity, or national origin. Parents from all faiths are welcome to place their children in the program. While boys may come from every religious background, adult leaders in the program ~ from the National Board level to individual unit volunteers ~ will adhere to a standard statement of Christian faith and values.

The program and themes will teach practical life skills, an appreciation for the outdoors, service to others, leadership, and character development.

Interestingly, the unnamed group will be based upon another organization for young girls called American Heritage Girls (AHG). TheBlaze previously profiled this organization, which describes itself as “Christ-centered.”

Similar to the issues that the Boy Scouts are now facing, AHG was founded after advocates and former Girl Scouts members found that their organization was also growing increasingly secular. The roots of the girl group were set in 1995 in West Chester, Ohio, by a group of parents who were looking for a Christian alternative for their young girls.

Now, this new Boy Scouts alternative will take the same route, using AHG as its guide.

“Our mission is simple and clear: to guide generations of courageous young men to honour God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure,” Green explained.

Here’s a video announcement explaining the initiative:

While boys with same-sex attraction will be allowed in, the Christian Post notes that gay agendas will not be allowed to be pushed by its members. Also, sexual purity will be one of the main touted values.

The policy in this arena will read, in part, “the proper context for sexual relations is only between a man and a woman in the covenant of marriage.”

On Sept. 6 and 7, the group’s name and logo will be released at its first national convention in Nashville, Tennessee. By Jan. 2014, it will be ready to fully launch.
