WEDNESDAY DROP: TOLERANCE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN VIRTUE: JULY 5, 2023

 

Hi folks, I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. Mine was ever so quiet. I am too old now to be out frolicking in the sun; my days of sunbathing are long past so it was indoors for me most of the time. The party is over and now we are all 'back to work'. I refer to activities we participate in to resist the forces around us. The break served to remind us what we were; now it is time to work on what will be in the times to come. And work, so much of it, lies ahead.

 

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes over my birthday, it means a lot. And thank you to my friend who sent me funds to take myself out for dinner. (You know who you are). Tomorrow I will do just that, take in the movie Sound of Freedom and then enjoy sashimi and sake at a local Japanese restaurant. 

 

As for the movie, I think "Tolerance is not a Christian Virtue" is an apt description of what I will see on the screen tomorrow. Gosh, I have not been in a movie theatre for over 12 years. I had to phone and find out what I needed to get in; it is all so different now. 

 

Now, please enjoy. The SCOTUS decisions of late have been a thrilling change; the whinging is louder than a cloud of worked up hornets. Lovely. I wonder how far they will go to undo the damage of these rulings.

I am going to see this tomorrow. The reviews are high. This will be a VERY interesting situation to watch unfold. They are working tirelessly to find things to discredit in the story lines. Apparently this movie is set to become an unexpected, unprecedented blockbuster. I pray this is so.
