THE WOMEN OF TAHRIR SQUARE

The cameras have focused primarily on the men standing up for their rights in Tahrir Square, however, there were women aplenty among the crowds. In Egypt is is not so easy to know Christian from Muslim among the men, so it was not so easy to realize that Christians and Muslims together were standing up for their rights.  However, the women dress differently so it is much easier to know. By looking at the photos below it can be seen that these were sisters, not one religion or another. And that is, despite what our Western press wants us to believe, the normal way of things among Egyptians. These women all suffer under the same repressive regime and came out in full force.
