SATURDAY ALTERNATIVE CARTOONS: NEW YEAR SPECIAL: DECEMBER 31, 2016

Vladimir Lenin said, "There are decades when nothing happens, but there are weeks when decades happen." The frantic pace of 2016 demonstrates that this was a year filled with weeks where decades DID happen. I daresay this was just a warm-up for what is to come in 2017.

Happy New Year to you all. Never one to get enthusiastic over the movement of a hand on a clock, deluded soul that I am, for once I feel a little optimism for the state of the planet. Not much, but a little is far more than the vast deficit that we faced before.

We have survived one of the fastest-moving traumatic years ever; I won't get deep here, none of us really need reminding. Lots of other folks do that. I am just glad we survived and the last year held so many wonderful personal memories; we all have them and must cherish them. Next year? Who knows what is on the way.  Whatever they are, no matter how bitter or difficult, there are always precious moments. If I have learned nothing else from watching The Walking Dead, that is one of them...

Personally, some of the best times of my life took place over the past year. That was enough to make the rest worth while! The fact that the heart surgeon FINALLY gave up looking for non-existent problems was a wonderful gift as well! (I told him I was fine but what does the patient know?)

We have come a long way over the past year but basically we are just doing a little basic housecleaning. There is no "truth movement" any longer; shattered and divided into a thousand quarrelling folks, all unity gone.

The best wish I can give you all is, may we all be here next year at the same time, in good health ~ the planet, our loved ones, ourselves ~ and, with grace, better off than we are now. Towards that hope, I raise a glass of bubbling dry fizzy stuff to us all. The new year feels good already.

Now, let's get to work and make it so.

The death of the Red Russian Army Orchestra was IMHO an act of war against the soul of the Russian people, this choir being so deeply embedded in their history and a source of great pride. Here, listen to a few of them perform "Skyfall" from a James Bond movie. These boys could sing!

This is one of the rare occasions where political cartoonists, frequently restricted by editorial guidelines, (aka censorship), are running amok over the "sensibilities" of Israel and Bibi Netanyahu in a way I have not seen before.  There is much more Bibi and Obama material further along ~ and a few regarding Bibi and Donald,  a relationship that contains more questions than answers. Meanwhile, above, Bibi certainly resembles a certain past Mayor of NYC who once flirted with the President Elect in similar attire.

That sweater actually comes in the rainbow flag of ... liberalism.

Oh, but this one made me laugh so very hard.

Enlarge this thought-provoking series of walls by Taylor Jones. They deserve your consideration as the artist spans history from the ancient Roman walls to the Great Wall of China to the Berlin Wall to the proposed Mexican wall.  Odd that the Great Wall of Palestine is so consistently ignored. Or is it?

Please check this video out and draw your own conclusions. Note the distortion of the video as it was broadcast originally only appears when Jack Steven is speaking. Just listen to that voice.:

Or this one. Just listen to the voice. I would not waste a lot of time on these "trivialities", but they give one pause for thought and make for fun conversation over family board games.

The face of Canadian communism in action. Two creatures, the one in red, the abomination of Kathleen Wynne, even more despicable than her companion. Canada is SO on the fast track for NWO Agenda 2030 implementation. The following is not meant to be a joke ~ the idiocy fits ~ After all, we have a liberal government in power.

I have always felt the removal or death of a tree disturbs vast communities contained within its body, branches, bark, roots and leaves, that we humans neglect to take under consideration. Angel Boligan seems to understand this.

Christmas during time of war.

A forgotten aspect of the Nativity story is the reason Mary and Joseph were heading to Bethlehem whilst she was so heavily pregnant. The "security number" mentioned above is not really so much of a stretch. According to Luke 2:1-7:
"So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

Propaganda posing as a cartoon. Mary and Joseph were not refugees. They were not fleeing; they were registering in Bethlehem as part of a census for the Roman governor.

An example we could and should all follow!

It has been interesting to note that even the most liberal cartoonists portray Obama's actions against Israel as back-stabbing and paint Israel as a victim of sorts. Yet these same artists have, with almost uncontrollable glee, taken advantage of a situation where they are able to lambaste Bibi in ways that were heretofore frowned upon.

This is a New Year Greeting cartoon from an artist who lives in Paris.

Now! Where to begin here, Obama? How honest was a Nobel Peace Prize when you waged more war than anyone before you?

Taylor Jones, artist, titled this cartoon "Over regulation"

Artist comment: Congratulations, USA ~ another dirty, bloody regime-change proxy war down the crapper.
