Trudeau’s Deputy PM Must Be Held Accountable For Affecting Livelihoods and Her Deceitful Past

Chrystia Freeland, who will continue to freeze bank accounts of some individuals involved in the Freedom Convoy, suggested that past claims that her grandfather was a Nazi were a Russian ploy to undermine the West. It has since been proved she knew the claims were true.

ED Noor: I do not hold it against Freeland that she has a grandfather involved in such political activities; it is not as if she was responsible for any of the doings of her ancestors. However, I do have issue with her lying about it all.

Regarding her more recent public appearances, it was noted that when Trudeau was announcing the imposition of the Emergency Measures Act, Freeland was literally twitching with excitement in the background. Then she gave her nasty little spiel in which she was drooling in anticipation of what she had planned for her victims. And yes, she is victimizing people.  If Trudeau were forced to step  down, this graceless creature would step in. Just not a good predicament for Canada.

Justin Trudeau’s Ukrainian-descended deputy PM and finance minister ~ also known as the “minister of everything” by political commentators ~ has been one of the biggest accomplices of tyranny against Canadians in past weeks.

Chrystia Freeland has most recently gained attention ~ and the ire of Canadians ~ for treating supporters of Canada’s Freedom Convoy like terrorist financiers by acting to freeze the bank accounts of Canadians supporting the protesters. Just yesterday, she announced that, despite the cessation of the Emergencies Act, there are certain bank accounts that will “remain frozen” due to other court orders.

Now, as she is exercising a power so draconian that she is able to nearly deprive individuals of the ability to feed themselves and their family ~ all because of a peaceful protest to keep their livelihoods and their bodily autonomy ~ she must be held to strict account by Canadians. At this point, she has already seriously transgressed against a just use of her powers, according to the Canadian Charter of Rights of Freedoms.

But especially now, Freeland must be pressed about an act of deceit that should, for any Canadian, call her integrity into question. The issue is even more pressing because this deceit touches on unresolved questions about Freeland’s loyalties and governing values.

For several years now, it has been known that Freeland intentionally misled the public about her maternal grandfather’s work for the Nazis.

When she was asked by reporters in 2017 about articles claiming her grandfather, Michael Chomiak, was a Nazi propagandist in Poland, Freeland replied

“I don’t think it’s a secret. American officials have publicly said, and even [German Chancellor] Angela Merkel has publicly said, that there were efforts on the Russian side to destabilize Western democracies, and I think it shouldn’t come as a surprise if these same efforts were used against Canada. I think that Canadians and indeed other western countries should be prepared for similar efforts to be directed at them.”

It should be noted that Freeland, whose maternal Chomiak grandparents are Ukrainian, has long been a fervent advocate of Ukrainian independence. It is said that she visited the Soviet Union while she was a Harvard student to study Ukrainian, even though she was already fluent in the language (more questions raised).

“A former financial journalist who worked in Moscow, she was blacklisted in 2014 along with 12 other Canadians for advocating western sanctions against Russia,” shared The Globe and Mail.

Jumping on the “Russian disinformation” bandwagon, Paul Grod, president of the Canadian Ukrainian Congress, more strongly rejected the allegation about Freeland’s grandfather, saying, “It is the continued Russian modus operandi that they have. Fake news, disinformation and targeting different individuals. It is just so outlandish when you hear some of these allegations ~ whether they are directed at minister Freeland or others.”

His statement has since proved embarrassingly false ~ and Freeland’s statement was disingenuous at best. It has been documented that Freeland knew of her grandfather’s activities as a Nazi propagandist:

She herself edited an article by her uncle, now professor emeritus John-Paul Himka, on the Nazi newspaper her grandfather worked for. The article is titled “Kravivski Visti and the Jews, 1943: A contribution of Ukrainian Jewish Relations during the Second World War.” Kravivski Visti was the Nazis’ leading Ukrainian-language newspaper, which, among other aims, helped garner support from the Ukrainian diaspora for Nazi Germany’s war efforts.

There is documented proof that Freeland’s grandfather, Michael Chomiak, was editor of this paper. The Ukraine Archival Records held by the Province of Alberta states that Michael Chomiak (1905-1984) was editor of “Kravivski Visti” “during the Nazi occupation,” and that his family immigrated to Canada after World War II, in 1948, as Ottawa Citizen reported.

It has also been reported, “Chomiak was officially responsible for at least one other newspaper, a weekly called Kholmska zemlia (Cholmer Land). It, like Krakivs’ki visti, contained many edited speeches by Nazi leaders including Adolph Hitler, propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, Governors Hans Frank and Otto Wächter, and many others.”

Another article Himka wrote, “Ethinicity and the Reporting of Mass Murder: Kravivski Visti, the NKVD Murders of 1941, and the Vinnytsia Exhumation,” says the following of Kravivski Visti’s anti-Jewish rhetoric:

“Although not well-grounded in fact, the anti-Jewish accusations of Kravivski Visti: were accompanied by a violent rhetoric of retribution, usually formulated in an open-ended way. The book claims “it is clear” that “the antisemitic propaganda” of Kravivski Visti contributed to create an atmosphere conducive to the mass murder of the Jews that was already underway.”

And so writers at The Globe and Mail were compelled to follow up their March 6, 2017 article, “Freeland warns Canadians to beware of Russian disinformation,” with the following article only a day later: “Freeland knew her grandfather was editor of Nazi newspaper.”

If Freeland attempted to deceive the public about her grandfather having been a Nazi propagandist ~ something potentially quite consequential for her own personal philosophy ~ Canadians should be asking why.

Why did she not own up to the truth, while unequivocally denouncing his work, as other descendants of Nazis or violators of human rights have?

Does she have something to hide?

In what other ways is she intentionally misleading the public?

In what way do her Ukrainian loyalties and animus against Russia cloud her judgment on foreign policy where the national interests of Canada are concerned?

Of at least as much concern is Freeland’s loyalty to the agenda of the World Economic Forum, where she has been a member of its Board of Trustees since January 2019. The WEF famously envisions a future where by 2030, the common man “owns nothing;” where human beings will merge with machines; and where a global, one-world government reigns.

And then, there are the implications of Freeland’s relations with billionaire and liberal mega-donor George Soros. She is esteemed enough by Soros to have interviewed him at least twice and to write his authorized biography.

Soros is widely known as an international political mover and shaker, through the calculated direction of his massive funds. UK’s Brexit pioneer Nigel Farage said in 2017 that Soros may be part of the biggest “international political collusion in history,” and Hollywood movie star James Woods has tweeted regarding Soros,

“The degree to which this one Nazi collaborator has undermined the stability of Western democracies is virtually incalculable.”

Was Soros really a Nazi collaborator? This we know: He accompanied his phony “godfather” as he confiscated property from the Jews in Nazi-occupied Hungary, when he was a teenager. Soros said during a 60 Minutes interview in 1998 with Steve Kroft that he has “no sense of guilt” since he “was only a spectator” as it happened.

“That sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many many years. Was it difficult?” Kroft asked.

“Not at all,” Soros responded with a smile.
