Steven and Stephanie Aguinaga vacationed last July at Fort Walton Beach in Florida with another couple. After swimming in the Gulf, all of them became sick. Four weeks later, Merrick Vallian ~ Steven’s best friend ~ died. Steven’s own health continues to deteriorate.
Interview by Jerry Cope with Steven & Stephanie in which Steven talks about how his doctor informed him he had “a new illness we’ve never seen before.” He was told there was “a rare bacteria” found in his body, “similar to the microbes that eat oil”. Then he discusses the death of his best friend, Merrick Vallian, who “on August 23 8:10 AM just fell over and he was BLUE...his heart just stopped.”Referred to by locals as "The Blue Plague" or "The Blue Flu," it is a form of cyanosis caused by the oxygen-depleted air and water of the Gulf region, due to the toxic combination of aerosolized Corexit, and genetically-modified "designer bacteria" created in labs to eat millions of gallons of crude that spewed from the BP "Spill" last year.

Defending American's human rights, marine biologist and toxicologist Riki Ott has called for Gulf of Mexico residents straight across the region to use cease and desist orders to end the ongoing application of dispersants and bio-engineered bacteria that forensic researcher Michael Edward discovered to be cause of Blue Plague, the mysterious antibiotic resistant disease complex plaguing the area, hidden by mainstream media but revealed by 'Your Call' and in a video released today.
On KALW radio program, 'Your Call,' host Rose Aguilar interviewed Ott about the human health epidemic being witnessed since the ongoing Gulf operation began.

On KALW radio program, 'Your Call,' host Rose Aguilar interviewed Ott about the human health epidemic being witnessed since the ongoing Gulf operation began.
In the interview, Ott explained how the government had stated that dispersant use ended in October. According to eyewitness reports, video documentation, and samples, the lethal practice has continued, due to legal loopholes according to Ott.
Ott concurred with Edward's assertion that the widespread plague is caused not only by Nalco's Corexit dispersant, but also by synthetic bacteria, genetically engineered antibiotic resistant bacteria released into the area.
Edward has reported Gulf Blue Plague symptoms, some of which were described in the "On Call" radio program, particularly by Robin Young, executive director of Guardians of the Gulf and victim of the plague.

Edward has reported:
"While...symptoms are increasing for more and more people, those who have had 30+ days of direct exposure to the toxic and oxygen depleted Gulf air and water are in immediate danger of permanent and irreversible biological damage...if not death.
"How humans and animals biologically react to cyanosis depends on the severity of exposure and time of exposure.
“At first, the body will compensate as best it can. But sooner or later, the body is overcome and severe complications begin.
“Without enough oxygen, the body will begin to rot and die from the inside out. The outward signs can be numbness in extremities, swollen necks and throats, blue lips, dark purple tongues, blue or gray skin color, and even bloodshot eyes as the body attempts to filter out the toxins. Lymph nodes and adenoids are overburdened.
"But these outward signs are the result of severe inward problems. Left exposed to a lack of oxygen, the kidneys and liver will fail and shut down. Heart failure is next. It's the same as someone who has decided to commit suicide by carbon monoxide depletion of oxygen in a locked garage with their car running. They die from cyanosis, the lack of oxygen. People living and working along the northern Gulf coast will eventually die the same way if exposed to depleted oxygen levels long enough."
According to Edward and now Ott, the synthetic genome that has been released from the lab into the Gulf is resulting in "permanent biological contamination."
Edward recently reported:
Edward recently reported:
"While natural genetic parasites, viruses and bacteria are limited by species barriers, the storm of artificial genetics created by synthetic biology engineers ~ in order to eliminate the flow of crude oil and gasses in the Gulf of Mexico ~ are actually designed to cross species barriers. This has created new viral and bacterial pathogens never seen before. It is directly responsible for the spreading of drug and antibiotic resistant viral and bacterial outbreaks along the Gulf Coast, a pestilence that I have named The Gulf Blue Plague."
Dr. Maximo Santin is former Biology Department professor at the Independent University of Madrid where he taught on Human Evolution and Ecology. He directly commented on the translated article by Edward, "The Perfect Genetic Storm ~ Synthetic DNA and the Gulf Blue Plague":
"What is being observed is not so much that the “synthetic microbes” produce 'mutations' in the natural microorganisms, because that phenomenon is more of a localized problem. The true problem is that the horizontal transference of these modified genes between marine microorganisms is taking place, and that would be a 'permanent biological contamination' of the ocean where the medium and long term effects cannot be predicted; but with complete certainty this will be a serious danger for the marine ecosystem in every area. I guess I will have to hope, but if these crazy activities go unchecked, we will end up confronting a problem for which we cannot find a solution.”
Young receives as many as twenty calls a day from people who have "bad bouts," pregnant women who miscarried and women who have had early births.
Ott's call for cease and desist orders follows Louisiana State Senator Crowe's call for citizens to support his 'Clean Our Gulf' petition to Congress to immediately stop using dispersants that are causing "alarming" health problems and to replace this with safe, healthy, cost-effective bioremediation.

"The story isn't over," wrote Ott in a 'Yes!' Magazine article, "Diary of a Disaster: 6 Months in the Gulf: What it’s like to respond to an environmental and democratic crisis ~ and where we go from here."
Dr. Rodney Soto, one of the only doctors in the south who is testing, diagnosing and treating Gulf Plague patients, also participated in the 'Your Call' radio program.
"Doctors are not trained to deal with this," said Dr. Soto.
Pharmaceutical drugs are not the answer according to Dr. Soto who also said,

"Lack of symptoms does not mean people are OK."
Said Young:
"There are people walking around here do not even know they're sick. I'm very worried about people coming down here for Spring Break.”
"Doctors need to start listening to the patients. They need to listen to their patients' pain and suffering."
