People complain about walls. Especially "THE Wall" Trump promised. Or the obscenity between Gaza and the rest of the world. They discuss "inhumanity" of separation of peoples but the above story is worth note; the Sentinalese people kill everyone who comes close to their remote paradise, North Andaman Island.
For 70,000 years the Sentinalese have fought off all invaders. The foolish young American missionary who lost his life at their hands may have exposed them to unfamiliar germs. These stone age people are protected by the Indian government and kill all interlopers. After the Asian Tsunami a few decades ago they brandished spears and shot arrows at planes flying overhead to check on their survival; there are no estimates of their numbers. It is believed they survived by climbing trees and taking their precious fire with them; they do not have the means to rekindle flames.
They live a stone age existence in a very lush land ~ natural food sources are abundant. The missionary's body is, so far, irreclaimable since any attempts to reach it on the beach where they left it could result in death. These primitive people prove what we already know; the desire to protect what is yours from invaders is an ancient instinct and perfectly natural.
Protecting the shores; this is possibly the last thing young Chau saw before his death.
This boat carrying 3 fishermen washed ashore a few months back. They did not survive the attack by the natives.
This makes me seriously consider switching over to DuckDuckGo!
Where were you when you heard that news? I was attending Catholic High School, Grade 9, at the time. I remember hearing "The American President has been shot" and the absolute shock that ran through the school; I rushed home immediately after school to watch the news and, of course, swallow the party line.
Seen along a remote Canadian roadside...
I have a warning about mocking Ocasio-Cortez too much for her obvious idiocy. I can guarantee this will gain her brownie points and victim status with her fans and pull in more followers. We should keep an eye on her but let her sink herself without giving her opportunity to expand her base.
This really does not look like my Canada!
What the heck is this foolishness?
They don't know how this freshwater river otter ended up in the Chinatown of Vancouver, but he did. He has set up home in the Sun Yat Sen Gardens of Chinatown, a beautiful freshwater site that happens to contain many very old and valuable Japanese Koi. To date, the bandit has feasted well on expensive Koi. Madonna, one of the more valuable fish is well over 50 years of age.
They hope to capture the rogue otter before he finds her. So far he has managed to elude being trapped but still gets away with the various baits offered. This little water bandit is very clever.
No longer is Stanley Park an option for a future home; they hope to capture the critter and release him in freshwater territory, far from the city, in the Kootenays perhaps, his more natural terrain. As much as I root for this feisty creature who evades traps and catches valuable fish as part of his natural life, this is the happiest ending we could possibly hope for; that he be captured and relocated in a more suitable habitat.
An expensive dinner there.
Ms. Ocasio-Cortez as she implements commu... er, "democratic socialism" in America.
The true source of Communism/feminism.
A few dead large sea mammals washed ashore in BC this week. Autopsy showed that one of them had a massive amount of plastic items in his gut. This certainly contributed to its death if only by contributing to malnutrition.
Speaking of George Soros....
Very poorly executed tattoo. Looks as if the chandelier did it for her!
Where old American flying machines go to retire....
At least 85,000 children of Yemen have died in this famine.
Good morning, Noor. I don't altogether share your extreme visceral loathing for Mr. Trudeau, but I must admit that shot of a couple of protesters carrying signs, one reading "Your mom banged Mick Jagger" and the other "and Fidel Castro" tickled my funny bone, somehow. True enough, Margaret used to be quite a party girl. Enjoy your weekend!
