SATURDAY CARTOONS: HAPPY 4TH OF JULY: JULY 3, 2021

Best of luck to our American friends. Celebrate what you have and stand firm in your resolve to right the wrongs of the left when the time comes ~ put aside your politics for a day to enjoy the special folk in your life.

People still want to come to this great nation. In fact, I think I will post one of my favourite American tunes by the great James Brown right here. This is the America we all love!

I am going to ask you to share my URL around. It is getting harder and harder to find sites or places for any form of self promotion. So grateful if you do! Either my material goes against guidelines or... well, you know how it goes in this world of not-so-free speech.

It is hard to run in heels. The military is changing its image and attracting fewer athletic types. It is actively purging the conservatives within the ranks.

Unless you live in Canada, of course. We have Pride Season which runs from June to September! Lucky us. Globohomo PM Trudeau is pandering to his base.

Old gif. Love his energy. Looks like a genuine Florida Man.

Stilton has announced the end of his political cartooning. This saddens me, his work resonated so well with my approach to the world. Anyhow, I am presenting his reasons for this action simply because I understand EXACTLY how he feels although I am not ready to lay it all down yet.

To better explain why I'm taking some time off from politics, I wanted to create a graphic which would illustrate my current mindset. And I couldn't think of any better metaphor than a carnival "high striker" game in which a heavy mallet blow sends a weight soaring upwards, the goal being to ring the bell at the top. Now imagine that the game is my level of anger about the news. I'd reached a point (and I'm still there) in which every news item rang my bell every freaking time.

Cackling Kamala Harris going to a border (but not the problematic border) to address illegal immigration without ever mentioning border security? BANG ~ shwoop! CLANG!

News that Ivermectin, when properly administered, reduces Covid deaths by 62% and transmission by 86% ~ but there's still nobody talking about it (and the millions who died unnecessarily)? CLANG!

The NFL running an ad that proclaims "Football is Gay. Football is Lesbian. Football is Beautiful. Football is Queer. Football is Life. Football is Transgender. Football is Tough. Football is Bisexual. Football is Accepting. Football is Everything. Football is for Everyone." CLANG!

A U.S. Olympic athlete (in the highly-regarded sport of "hammer throwing") turns her well-toned ebony back on the American flag at an event because it doesn't speak for her? CLANG!

A Biden administration member attempts to blame the Florida condo collapse on "climate change?" CLANG!

In the face of a growing wave of violent crime, Democrats claim that it's Republicans who are defunding the police? CLANG!

And so on and so on and so on. Each incident sends my temper skyrocketing and leaves an already well-worn bell. Which is why I decided to take an extended time-out. And so far, it feels pretty darn good.

Have I given up hope that things can get better? Absolutely not! But they're not going to get better in the immediate future, so I'd like to use that immediate future to enjoy myself as much as possible. And part of that enjoyment will be continuing to communicate with you here, about whatever goofiness is on my mind, or whatever amusement I can cook up for you. And I can't commit to any kind of schedule, but just know that I'm not disappearing.

Nor can I completely ignore politics.  As a case in point, I just found out that our family dentist ~ who we've used for decades ~ is closing his practice. He loves what he does, but just can't take the bureaucratic BS anymore. The straw that finally broke the camel's back: in order to keep his practice open, he was being required to take classes teaching him how to recognize and fight sex trafficking. Presumably so he could call Kamala Harris (ha!) if a decaying van overpacked with weeping children comes screeching to a halt outside his door and a dust-covered Latinx Coyote rushes in to ask, "How motch to make the cheeldren's mouths preety?" CLANG!

Would they ever dim the lights of Broadway or Fifth Avenue? I doubt it.

Good news! This disillusioned child was told to use the boys' room. Who can disagree?

All the signs and notices regarding the plandemic are gone. Faces are bare although employees are still masked. Stores do not require them. Or social distancing. We shall see how long this lasts for. Of course this is assuming one is fully vaccinated.....

Suddenly I feel a fondness for this guy even though I never got into any of his acting material. I just knew he is a very down to earth local man. Pity it was when they were children.

Small print: Just 29% of people surveyed in the US said they trust the news, compared to 45% in Canada and 54% in Brazil. That is a huge percentage in Canada and explains the submissiveness of the people.

(((Whose "self-defense" might we be referring to?)))

The simple solution to all of these problems for free-range birds is dogs! Hawks, eagles, foxes, weasels, all would love to get my brother's birds. Just as they were when he was raising puppies. A good alert protective beastie is all the prevention you need.

Coyote pups

Dang, so would I!

Apparently July 2 is International UFO Day. July 2 (today) is my birthday; could this be why I have never felt like I belonged on this planet?

This midwifery publication is beyond the pale. At first I thought this image was, well I was not sure. Then I find it is a magazine cover. Definitely agenda driven and there will be more images to come. This issue was concerned with "dignified trans-masculine maternity care".

Weep for that child. Her mother is insane and projected....

This is the PERFECT grilled cheese. You can almost hear the tender crunch just looking at it.

Somewhere in Ohio.

Just the fact that such a thing is under discussion nauseates me. The author even insists that, since they are innocent, the animals are not injured. What a world. Communism. It does the soul so much good.

I have not posted in FB for maybe 4 years now. Nothing political at all. Last weekend I took a chance at a meme site and left the link for this page and two images. One was of the girl athlete who wants to burn the flag at the Olympics; the other was a med meme about being pure of DNA without the vax. Yesterday I went back in only to find that all four posts never even went through to be seen; they were against community guidelines. What a joke. And now this idiocy. No wonder people are waking up but unless they have been banned, a person does not get it; they assume you did something wrong to be in jail.

Why women live longer than men.

Diseases for sale....

Two truckloads of fine whiskey. Gone.

I want this life.

  1. Superb iris in No. 356. I love iris, they are my favourite flower.

Best wishes, Noor. I hadn't been aware that 2 July was your birthday. I'll wish you a happy birthday in good time next year. Assuming both of us are still here then!

Meanwhile, bonne fin de semaine !

  2. Image 40: I note with interest the Mexican flag on the right side of this image. I guess the photo was made in Mexico. :-)

  3. As usual, good stuff and as usual, the world (well western world anyway) seems to be circling the drain. There was a time when I thought I'd be safely dead and buried before the wheels came off.... I'm afraid I'll be right in the middle of "it". Happy Birthday.

  7. BarbaraLee15,

Thx for all your efforts—they are greatly appreciated.

As for your concern about getting your URL shared around, perhaps you could try signing up for https://beforeitsnews.com/

They say on their sight they are seeking input and from what I have seen on their site, your work would fit very nicely.

    All the best
