TESTIMONY OF FORMER CONGRESSMAN WALTER FAUNTROY

Walter Fauntroy, legendary champion of human rights, was elected in 1970 as the first member of Congress representing the District of Columbia. A founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus in 1977, in 1984 he, Randall Robinson and Dr. Mary Francis Berry launched the Free South Africa Movement with their arrest at the South African Embassy in Washington, D.C.

He retired from Congress in 1990, returning to New Bethel Baptist Church, where he had grown up, as full time pastor and becoming president of the National Black Leadership Roundtable and the Global Campaign for Middle East Peace.

While in Tripoli, he told the U.K. Telegraph,

“I came here over a week ago now and have been working on a long term effort to rally the genuine spiritual leaders of the world ... to work out a peace agreement.”

Former U.S. Congressman Walter Fauntroy, who recently returned from a self-sanctioned peace mission to Libya, said he went into hiding for about a month in Libya after witnessing horrifying events in Libya’s bloody civil war ~ a war that Fauntroy claims is backed by European forces.

Fauntroy’s sudden disappearance prompted rumors and news reports that he had been killed.

In an interview inside his Northwest D.C. home last week, the noted civil rights leader told the Afro that he watched French and Danish troops storm small villages late at night beheading, maiming and killing rebels and loyalists to show them who was in control.

“‘What the hell’ I’m thinking to myself. I’m getting out of here. So I went in hiding,” Fauntroy said.

The rebels told Fauntroy they had been told by the European forces to stay inside. According to Fauntroy, the European forces would tell the rebels, “‘Look at what you did.’ In other words, the French and Danish were ordering the bombings and killings, and giving credit to the rebels.

Fauntroy watched French and Danish troops storm small villages late at night beheading, maiming and killing rebels and loyalists to show them who was in control.

“The truth about all this will come out later,” Fauntroy said.

While in Libya, the former congressman also said he sat down with Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi for a one-on-one conversation. Qaddafi has ruled Libya since 1969, when he seized power in a military coup.

Fauntroy said he spoke with Qaddafi in person and that Qaddafi assured him that if he survived these attacks, the mission to unite African countries would continue.

The French and Danish were ordering the bombings and killings, and giving credit to the rebels.

“Contrary to what is being reported in the press, from what I heard and observed, more than 90 percent of the Libyan people love Qaddafi,”

Fauntroy said. 

“We believe the true mission of the attacks on Qaddafi is to prevent all efforts by African leaders to stop the recolonization of Africa.”

Several months ago, Qaddafi’s leadership faced its biggest challenge. In February, a radical protest movement called the Arab Spring spread across Libya. When Qaddafi responded by dispatching military and plainclothes paramilitary to the streets to attack demonstrators, it turned into a civil war with the assistance of NATO and the United Nations.

Fauntroy’s account could not be immediately verified by the Afro, and the U.S. State Department has not substantiated Fauntroy’s version of events. Fauntroy was not acting as an official representative of the U.S. in Libya. He returned to Washington, D.C., on Aug. 31.

We believe the true mission of the attacks on Qaddafi is to prevent all efforts by African leaders to stop the recolonization of Africa.

When rumors spread about Fauntroy being killed, he went underground, he told the Afro in an interview. Fauntroy said for more than a month he decided not to contact his family but to continue the mission to speak with African spiritual leaders about a movement to unify Africa despite the Arab uprisings.

“I’m still here,” Fauntroy said, pointing to several parts of his body. “I’ve got all my fingers and toes. I’m extremely lucky to be here.”

After blogs and rumors reported Fauntroy had been killed, the congressional office of Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., announced on Aug. 24 that she had been in touch with authorities who confirmed Fauntroy was safely in the care of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Inside his home, Fauntroy pulled out several memoirs and notebooks to explain why he traveled to Libya at a time when it was going through civil unrest.

“This recent trip to Libya was part of a continuous mission that started under Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when he gave me orders to join four African countries on the continent with four in the African Diaspora to restore the continent to its pre-colonial status,” Fauntroy said. 

“We want Africa to be the breadbasket of the world,” he said. “Currently, all the major roads in every country throughout Africa lead to ports that take its natural resources and wealth outside the continent to be sold to the European markets.”

Meanwhile reports from Tripoli are coming in.

It seems in the last two weeks, rebel fighters have fired more bullets into the air to express their excitement than were shot during the assault on Tripoli earlier in August. But away from “jubilant” crowds, we meet those who are not so pleased.

Abdulrakham lives in Tripoli’s Abu Slim district, which has historically been pro-Gaddafi. When the rebels arrived, his sister was badly injured. She is still in hospital in Tunisia.

Abdulrakham does not want to show his face on camera and insists on a hidden location for the interview. He says the revolution has brought much fear in its wake.

“There is no peace. There is no safety in the city. We do not let our children outside when it’s dark. We are afraid. We always wait for something bad,” he tells RT. “When Gaddafi was here, at least we didn’t have to sleep awake, like we do now.”

Abdulrakham says he also wanted change and a brighter future for his country, but not this way.

“People are dying on both sides,” he continues. “The city’s been destroyed ~ and no one cares! Do they seriously think they changed it for the better? Don’t lie to yourself ~ just look around! Is this what you wanted?”

And what is around is a scene of widespread destruction and social chaos. The badly damaged buildings matched by the rising stench of garbage and decomposing bodies. Armed youngsters roam the streets, barely old enough to understand that what they carry are weapons, not toys.

Many shops, schools and hospitals are closed, while the city’s cemeteries are growing bigger.

The streaks of blood, smeared along the sides of this impromptu mass grave suggested a rushed operation, a hurried attempt to dispose of the victims.

Who the men were and what happened to them, close to the Libyan rebels’ western front line town of Al-Qawalish in the Nafusa Mountains, remains unknown.

But the evidence of a brutal end was clear. One of the corpses had been cleanly decapitated, while the trousers of another had been ripped down to his ankles, a way of humiliating a dead enemy.

The green uniforms were the same as those worn by loyalists fighting for Col. Muammer Gaddafi in Libya’s civil war. No one from the rebel side claimed the corpses, or declared their loved ones missing.

There was no funeral, or call to the media by the rebels to see the ‘atrocities committed by the regime’.

Since the bodies were seen by the Daily Telegraph attempts to discover their identities have been unsuccessful, in part because of obstruction by rebel authorities in the area. Having highlighted the discovery to those authorities the area was subsequently bulldozed and the bodies disappeared.

The find will add to concerns highlighted in recent days over human rights violations by rebel forces. Human Rights Watch last week said that they had looted homes, shops and hospitals and beaten captives as they advanced.

The Daily Telegraph found homes in the village of al-Awaniya ransacked, and shops and schools smashed and looted. The town, now empty, was inhabited by the Mashaashia, a traditionally loyalist tribe that has long been involved in land disputes with surrounding towns.

Human rights groups fear that reprisals may get worse as the rebels advance on towns nearer the capital such as Al-Sabaa and Gheryan which are loyalist strongholds.

The author of the HRW report, Sidney Kwiram, last night called on rebel leaders to investigate the latest find.

“It is critical that the authorities investigate what happened to these five men.”

The bodies were discovered in a water tank just off the main road between Zintan, the main town in the area, and Al-Qawalish as the rebels consolidated their advance.

At the time, rebel commanders, including former government troops who had defected, claimed that the men were most probably killed by Col Gaddafi forces for trying to defect ~ a common allegation.

“The day of our first assault on Al Qawalish we found the bodies there, and they were already in bad shape,” said Col. Osama Ojweli, the military coordinator for the region.

“This is not unusual in Gaddafi’s army. In other battles we have found men, their hands tied behind their backs with dusty wire and executed ~ we found them shot in the head by the regime.”

A colonel, who defected last month and cannot be named, said: “If they think you might leave, they will shoot you.”

His claim was backed up by loyalists captured and held prisoner in the nearby town of Yafran.

But suspicions have been raised after the rebel authorities disposed of the bodies and bull-dozed the site where they were found.

Drivers also said they had military orders not to take journalists to the site. The driver of another news organization reportedly said.

“If you go there I will ditch you in the desert,”

The rebel army is aware that NATO intervention on their side was justified by concern at regime human rights abuses in western capitals.

The Libyan Transitional National Council has now flown officials, including Abdulbaset Abumzirig, deputy minister of justice, to the Nafusa to investigate abuse claims.

“From what I have seen they are treating prisoners very well,” he said. “We have promised to hand them back to their families after the war.”

But Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch both said there were documented cases of extra-judicial killings by rebel forces, including deaths in custody under torture.

 

In particular, in the early phases of the uprising, loyalists and sub-Saharan Africans accused of being mercenaries were lynched. Since then, men in rebel-held areas suspected of being members of Col Gaddafi’s security services have been taken from the homes, and subsequently found dead with their hands tied.

Both organizations say these are not on the scale of the abuses perpetrated by the regime. “We have come across a number of cases of executions of suspected Gaddafi fighters in both the east and the west,” said Peter Bouckaert, emergencies director of HRW.

“It does fit a consistent pattern, though I don’t think these killings are authorized by the rebel authorities in Benghazi.”

Diana Eltahawy, of Amnesty, said members of the Transitional National Council, the rebel government, had admitted to there being a problem with some of their troops but had not done enough to tackle it.

“There is no comparison with the Gaddafi side. But the concern is that there is not sufficient will to address this in the leadership,” she said. “It needs to be stopped before it becomes worse.”

SEEK EXTRA ARMS FROM FRANCE

Libya’s rebels asked France for extra arms to help them overrun Tripoli within “days”, as they ramped up a pre-Ramadan offensive that has Muammar Gaddafi’s troops on the run in the east.

The request was made in Paris on Wednesday to French President Nicolas Sarkozy by military leaders from the rebel-held city of Misrata, a member of their delegation said.

Rebel leader Mahmud Jibril meanwhile was expected to seek additional aid for their military campaign from Spain during talks in Madrid on Thursday with Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez.

Sarkozy held talks at his Elysee presidential palace with rebel General Ramadan Zarmuh, Colonel Ahmed Hashem and Colonel Brahim Betal Mal, as well as Suleiman Fortia, a local representative of the rebel leadership in Misrata.

Tripoli very soon. Very soon means days,” Fortia told reporters after the meeting. “We are here in France to discuss how we can do the job.”

France is taking part in NATO-coordinated strikes against Gaddafi’s military assets and was the first outside state to formally recognise the rebels’ Transitional National Council.

It has already dropped arms to the rebels in the Nafusa Mountains, southwest of Tripoli, to help them defend themselves against Gaddafi’s forces.

A rebel source said they were looking for similar deliveries of arms and munitions to Misrata.

“Insurgent commanders came to explain to the head of state that the keys to Tripoli are in Misrata,” said a supporter of the rebels, French writer Bernard-Henri Levy, who attended the talks.

“Misrata’s fighters are disciplined, battle hardened and they have a key asset: a military victory already won” against loyalist forces, Levy told AFP after the meeting.

Misrata, around 200 kilometres east of Tripoli, has been controlled by rebels since mid-May, after a two-month siege by Gaddafi’s forces.

French Defence Minister Gerard Longuet said Gaddafi is losing control of crucial energy supplies as the rebels advance in the key eastern oil town of Brega, in Misrata and in the Nafusa mountains.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the Libyan strongman was “cut off from fuel and cash”.

Rebels claim to have chased the bulk of Gaddafi’s eastern army from Brega while encircling loyalists holed up among oil installations in the northwest of the town.

As part of what now appears to be a countrywide effort to tighten the noose on Gaddafi before the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan begins around August 1, insurgents in the west said they were awaiting orders to start a fresh offensive from the Nafusa Mountains southwest of the capital.

During Ramadan, the endurance of even the hardiest volunteers will be tested by desert battle without food and water during the daytime fast observed by the faithful.

But at Brega, rebel gains were stymied by vast quantities of anti-personnel mines planted by retreating loyalists and the difficulties in attacking an estimated 200 Gaddafi troops fighting from positions near vital petrochemical facilities.

That difficulty was laid bare late on Tuesday, when 24 rebel fighters died. It was by far the rebels’ bloodiest day since the battle for Brega began almost a week ago.

A rebel military source said many of the casualties came when troops closing on isolated Gaddafi forces were hit by a line-guided rocket attack.

Outside the town, rebel troops cleared minefields holding up their advance, while trying to dislodge Gaddafi’s artillery to the west.

Libya’s government has denied the rebels retook Brega. The rebels said Gaddafi troops inside the town were largely conscripts and volunteers who were surrounded.

On the front line of the western desert hamlet Gualish, the rebels waited patiently in the shade until the next battle as Ramadan approaches and the searing summer sun grows more intense.

“We are preparing for the battle. We hope (it will take place), God willing, before Ramadan,” or just after, said rebel commander Mokhtar Lakhdar.

“If there is fighting during Ramadan, we will fight as usual. We will not stop until we have liberated Libya,” he said in Gualish, where the mercury hit 45C on Wednesday.

Lakhdar said the rebels were waiting for the green light from their headquarters in the eastern city of Benghazi.

Around him young rebels debated fighting during the fasting month.

“During Ramadan, it will be harder but, God willing, we will not be weakened but rather be stronger. Ramadan is a good time to be a martyr,” said Shaban Aabor, 38.

The next rebel target is Asabah, 80 kilometres south of Tripoli and the last barrier between rebels and the garrison town of Gharyan.

They say to be careful of what you wish for because you might get it. Just the other day I wrote of wanting to show the world what was really going on in Libya so that people would know the truths that were being hidden, what lies were being told, what atrocities were being committed in their names.  In the case of this war, the truth is well hidden on line, very difficult to dig up. I found a few bombings, "mundane" every day things that go on in warfare. But I knew I had not found what I wanted to offer you, information that was hidden and just not out in the public.

Tonight I found what I sought as well as the accompanying films. I warn you, these are NOT for the faint of heart or to be viewed near children or those unable to handle the real horrors of what evil men do in war. They are extremely graphic. 

And, no, just for the record, the evil men are NOT Qadaffi and his followers. The evil men are hired and trained by America and NATO. Their deeds are vile almost beyond belief so stand forewarned. 

Then, when your tummy has returned to normal, ask yourself why your bankrupted country, already so in debt there is no end in sight, still being forced to still pay for THESE things to be done "in your name". 

Heck they do not even wave words around like "liberty, freedom, etc" around any longer. They no longer try to cloak these PNAC inspired wars in fake patriotism. Nope, if it is the "war on terror" it means anything goes, just get in there and kill or be killed. The elite and their military complex must make their money and depopulate the planet while they are at it.

Read and watch (if you can stomach it). Then try to answer the question the writer asks you. And do something about these horrors. GET OFF THE BENCH.

NATO has been pumping propaganda out of Libya to justify its “humanitarian war” against the government of Moammar Gadhaffi. Until now, NATO has succeeded in large part because ordinary citizens around the world have no access to direct intelligence on which to base their own opinions.

As the former CIA Asset who covered Libya at the United Nations from 1995 to 2003 during negotiations for the Lockerbie Trial, I am compelled to break past that propaganda to examine actual evidence.

Responding to numerous requests, I am sharing primary evidence that I receive daily from sources inside Tripoli.  Video documentation comes from Libyan refugees, collected by a fact finding commission called “Global Civilians for Peace in Libya.”

The fact-finding team includes Europeans, Africans, Americans and international human rights attorneys, who are preparing allegations of War Crimes against NATO. Judging from these videos, financial damages that NATO will be required to pay Libya should be stupendous, indeed.

A more careful investigation shows that it is the NATO backed Rebels who are guilty of atrocities ~ not Gadhaffi’s soldiers at all. Sanctions should be thrown out, and NATO should shift its military forces to back Gadhaffi in defending the Libyan people.

NEVER PLAY TRUTH OR DARE WITH A SPY.

The videos portray horrific atrocities. There are two important reasons why NATO Rebels would commit these acts. First, in committing war crimes, NATO Rebels have deployed a strategy for provoking panic and confusion at the street level, where they must control the people.

They have frightened their opposition into silent submission. Ordinary Libyans can see with their own eyes that Libyan Rebels are all powerful, with NATO enforcers watching their back, and pro-Gadhaffi loyalists had better shut their mouths or face terrible consequences.

At the same time, Libyan Rebels have discovered a way to punch NATO’s buttons, and fire up the engines for the “Humanitarian War” ~

For some reason, the world is supposed to believe that Gadhaffi’s government ~ which has no history of attacking its own people in 41 years of rule ~ is suddenly guilty of the most hideous offenses.

Those of us who have studied Libya closely have opposite expectations.

Historically, Gadhaffi has been so tenacious and protective of his people that he refused to hand over two Libyan men for the Lockerbie trial, despite years of U.N. sanctions.

Gadhaffi knew the men were innocent, and would not get a fair shake in Court. Simply put, Lockerbie was a false flag operation to cover up rogue CIA involvement in heroin trafficking out of the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, during the Terry Anderson hostage crisis.

A joint team of CIA, FBI and Defense Intelligence investigators were flying on Pan Am 103 that day, heading for Washington to expose the corruption, when the plane exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland. Libya got tagged as the fall guy, but like 9/11, the truth refused to die. And Gadhaffi refused to back down. He stood by his people, despite punishing international pressures.

Gadhaffi’s guess proved correct, by the way. In one of the most shameful episodes of corruption ever at the International Courts, the U.S. bribed two witnesses at the Lockerbie Trial with $4 million pay offs.

This is the overly hyped-up historically incorrect propaganda that is being pushed around the world by NATO and America to justify their stated desire to assassinate a man who had the effrontery to NOT NEED them or, even worse, their banking institutions!

After both witnesses recanted and confessed to the payments, the only Libyan convicted in the Pan Am 103 bombing, Abdelbasset Megrahi, won a “compassionate release” from Scottish prison in August, 2009, ostensibly so he could go home to die of cancer.

Gadhaffi’s actions reveal a great deal about his character.

As a leader, does he throw his people to the wolves?

Or abandon them for convenience?

Notoriously not.

He claims the Libyan people as his own.

He protects them no matter the cost to himself.

These videos are the reality check. Ironically, by claiming Gadhaffi’s forces have been responsible for rape crimes specifically, NATO has made a glaring admission that War Crimes are in fact occurring inside Libya.

Headlines that Gadhaffi issued Viagra to fuel rape binges by his soldiers played very well on CNN. However former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has determined that the only major purchaser of Viagra bound for Libya was the U.S. Government itself, which handed out Little Blue Pills to older Rebel soldiers to energize them for battle.

Judging from rape testimonials coming out of Libya, the U.S. strategy succeeded in the most tragic ways.

THE BAD GUYS

These videos look awfully like Al Qaeda to me. But don’t take my word for it.  Look at the evidence and decide for yourself.

A warning: these videos are graphic and horrific. They’re posted at obamaslibya.com and FederalJack.com, because it’s got hefty security around its site and rock solid courage to speak truth to power.

The first video shows a Libyan rebel beheading a Libyan soldier. If it looks like Iraq, well golly, the highest percentage of foreign fighters in Iraq (and Chechnya and Afghanistan) came from Eastern Libya. Unhappily for NATO, there’s no avoiding that this video was shot in Libya: The men are speaking a Libyan Arab dialect with its own distinct accent.

 

BEHEADING OF A LIBYAN SOLDIER

   

I could not watch this. I peeped once or twice but it was just too graphic, too up close. And these beasts kept mumbling"Allah Akbar" as this horrific act was carried out. The list of depravities shown by video on this page are beyond anything I have seen before but I will move on to the next.  If these wars are conducted in our names, we need to see what we are fighting against in terms of the REAL enemy, in this case NATO and its trainees and thugs.

The second video shows gruesome footage of a Libyan rebel cutting up the rotted flesh of a dead soldier and forcing it into the hands of Libyan Prisoners of War, who are lined up in a row so they must eat it.

Another video shows a group of Rebels sodomizing a civilian with a pistol.

Another film shows a crowd of Rebels hanging and beheading a Libyan soldier.

Another video shows CIA operatives working side by side Rebel forces, driving around in trucks ~ proof that U.S. forces are already on the ground and active participants in the atrocities.

Another video shows several dead Libyan soldiers with their throats cut, lying in the back of a truck. The killings violate the Geneva Conventions of War, which protect enemy soldiers after capture. In the excitement, NATO Rebels encouraged a frightened on-looker to video the butchery and claim that Gadhaffi’s forces were responsible. Afterward, the man with the video grabbed his family and fled the Rebel stronghold. That’s how the video reached the fact-finding group in Tripoli.

It’s so barbaric that it defies understanding how NATO could have envisioned these Rebels as holding any leadership potential at all.

RAPE AS A WEAPON OF WAR

Worst than you thought, right? Most notoriously up to this point, it has become evident that Rebels are using rape as a war-time punishment of pro-Gadhaffi or “neutral” families that don’t automatically embrace the Rebel cause.

In Islamic culture, the whole family suffers stigmas after rape, a sort of communal punishment.

Right now a team of female human rights attorneys are interviewing rape victims. Two rape testimonials and other eye witness reports are provided here.

However these are not the most graphic stories. The problem is traveling hundreds of miles through checkpoints and bombs.

By explanation, as of June 22, non-governmental fact finders are traveling 200 miles to video a boy who got castrated and both eyes gouged out by NATO Rebels as punishment for refusing to join their paramilitary unit.

Other video getting collected comes from a father.

He describes the kidnapping of his virgin daughter from a pro-Gadhaffi family. After dragging her out of the house at gun-point and taking her to a rape party for a brutal night gang rape, NATO rebels cut off her breasts with a knife, and she bled to death.

There is another woman,

Human rights investigators are waiting to interview this Libyan Woman from Zawia who survived a brutal gang rape that cut off her breasts. Horrified on-lookers saved her from bleeding to death, when the excited Rebels ran off, firing their guns in the air.

She’s been hospitalized, but she’s still too physically and mentally damaged to handle the interview. International human rights attorney are standing by.

We urgently seek an American sponsor so this Libyan woman can undergo reconstructive surgery in the United States or Europe. On June 19, Gadhaffi soldiers fighting for Misurata rescued another rape survivor.

The young woman had been kidnapped and held hostage for 20 days. Rebel forces gang raped her every single day, round the clock, until Gadhaffi’s forces broke through their lines and saved her life.

So much for NATO’s humanitarian mission.

Clearly NATO has been grossly deceived, and should cease at once from protecting these Rebels.  U.S. tax dollars are training a New Taliban to intimidate the Libyan people into submission, while the West plunders Libya’s wealth.

But NATO failed to take into account the spirit of the Libyan people.

Libya has a powerful history and traditions of resilience in defending its sovereignty from foreign invaders. Libyan families and Tribal Leaders are determined to seek financial damages from every NATO and Arab country that supports the rebels.

So long as NATO provides training, uniforms, military assault rifles, jeeps and transportation, ground advisers and air power ~ NATO will be forced to take responsibility for these crimes. Financial damages will come out of funding for NATO’s own citizens ~ out of education, health care, government pensions, universities, roads, bridges, you name it.

Patrick Haseldine, a British expert on Libya’s conflict with NATO, has calculated current British financial damages at $2.8 billion.

All of it begs the question why NATO governments should want to support these Rebels in the first place?

Indeed, all of us should ask some important questions.

Should President Obama spend hard-earned U.S. tax dollars from the Middle Class to finance this War? 

Should America assume the role of training Al Qaeda forces and function as Al Qaeda enforcers?

While our great nation bleeds red ink?

While Americans struggle to find jobs and fight off foreclosures?

Knowing that our soldiers are exhausted from two other failed Wars ~ fighting these same Al Qaeda Rebels in Iraq and Afghanistan?

And why exactly should America prop up NATO, so that the British and French can relive their glory days of Empire? 

Is it worth risking our Empire and prosperity?

Really?

These videos reveal a whole different truth. The CIA will probably get mad that I have released them. But good Intelligence Assets are supposed to deliver brutal honesty.

We’re not supposed to hide ugly truths. We’re supposed to get information that leaders ~ and communities ~ urgently need to make the most informed choices in policymaking. It happens to be very, very ugly intelligence. But it would be wrong for me to spare you.

In my opinion as a former U.S. Asset, the United States should break ties with the Libyan rebels and cut off financing immediately.
