LIBYA: DESECRATION OF THE TOMB OF GADDAFI’S MOTHER

 

The tomb of Qaddafi's mother was most vandalized, her bones removed and burned.

A group of Libyan fanatic fighters belonging to the jihadist current, which is close to al Qaeda organization, desecrated the graves in the cemetery of the Gadadfa Tribe, in the city of Sirte and extracted bones they burnt.

Ennahar obtained photos showing the desecration of the Gadadfa graves (Gaddafi tribe) in Sirte, showing a group of Libyan Jihadi extremists, in the court of a house containing the tombs of the family of Muammar Gaddafi. Four tombs were destroyed and dug. According to information received, the four graves are those of Muammar Gaddafi’s parents, his mother, his uncle and two of his relatives, all four were buried in the yard of the house.

The tomb of Gaddafi’s mother was most targeted by extremists who have completely destroyed it and dug it up. The bones were removed and burned by these fanatics ~ nothing seems to satisfy their hatred for the family of former leader Muammar Gaddafi.

This is barbaric behaviour of another age that nothing can justify. The fanatics have written on the walls "Committee of demolition of statues," as if they were statues, not Muslim graves, buried according to ritual of Islam, which prohibits the destruction of tombs whether they are Muslims or not.

These irresponsible acts, which the NTC is trying to hide, are proof of the existence in Libya after Gadhafi, of dangerous extremists who will eventually represent a great danger to the country and the entire region.

These acts come only a few weeks after the assassination of Muammar Gaddafi and his son Moatassim, murdered after being tortured by the NTC soldiers.

The great scholars of Islam prohibit the desecration of graves.

In their fatwas on the subject, all the scholars of Islam prohibit the desecration of graves of Muslims and non Muslims. A death must be respected regardless of religion, and whatever his crimes during his lifetime.
