As the Mavi Marmara prepares to set sail once again to the besieged Gaza Strip, Israel is once again exposing its tentacles to halt the mission. A senior IDF Spokesman was quoted today as saying “If we allow one ship carrying flour to reach Gaza the next one will have dangerous materials and the third will carry dangerous weapons inside bean bags. We must not allow this,” the officer said. He rejected the concept of allowing inspection mid sea explaining this will be very hard to implement.

Dangerous materials? Are they referring to the emergency medical supplies desperately needed in Gaza today? As Saed Bannoura reported yesterday from Gaza;

Dr. Atef Al Kahloot, head of the Medical Services in the Gaza Strip, reported Monday that all surgeries in hospitals across the coastal region have been put on hold until further notice as they ran out of anesthesia medications and supplies.

Al Kahloot stated that all hospitals and medical centers in the Gaza Strip will be totally out of all supplies related to Anesthesia within 48 hours. Al Kahloot added that there are 180 types of medications that have run out of in addition to 200 types of medical supplies.
He called on the international community and international human rights groups to intervene, and to save the residents from a serious humanitarian crisis.
Al Kahloot further called on the Ministry of Health in the central West Bank city of Ramallah to act on sending all needed medical supplies to the hospitals and medical facilities in the Gaza Strip.
Over 300 patients have died, since Israeli imposed the siege on Gaza in 2007, due to a lack of essential medical equipment. The patients were denied permits to leave the Gaza Strip to seek medical attention elsewhere.
Yet, The IDF Spokesman claimed the flotilla was completely redundant as Gaza is not in an emergency state and because the Gaza port does not enable cargo to be unloaded from vessels.
“We are without a doubt more prepared and will know how to deal with a provocation of this type,” he said.
NOT IN AN EMERGENCY STATE? Just what constitutes an emergency as far as Israel is concerned? People are dying as a result of the siege on Gaza, people are suffering as the world once again chooses to look the other way…. BUT…. it’s only Palestinians, according to zionism, a people that does not even exist … so it’s not an emergency.
How long will Israel get away with conning the world? How long will the world swallow the lies coming from the mouths of the zionist state??
The IDF further stated that the Navy has various non-lethal means enabling a better handling of a possible violation of the Gaza blockade. Commandos have simulated a quick takeover of the ships in case soldiers will be forced to go on board.
“We have good combatants who know how to operate and will do their part in the best possible way,” the IDF officer said.
Are we to expect another episode of piracy at sea? Are we to expect more Martyrs added to our already growing list??
In the name of everything sacred to humanity, we urge the world, the UN in particular, not to allow this planned act of terrorism on the part of Israel. Their tentacles must be tied!
