SATURDAY ALTERNATIVE CARTOONS: JANUARY 21, 2017

After watching the inauguration folderol today, I am about to fall asleep ~ the glass of wine might have something to do with that! Anyhow here we have a lot of Obama material, some of it from the past, Trump and the inauguration, and, to be honest, that seems to be it for this week. I hope everyone is doing well, personally I am happy to see a few flowers breaking out on the trees already!

Oh, I did just see a typical JMSM comment on the dresses worn at the inauguration. From the NY Times, we were reminded that the ladies wore a lot of white because in China, white is the colour of mourning..... I am serious. Not a mention that they were all creations of American craftsmanship, just that they were the colours of death.

There is a lot going on in this image and not all of it good. Note the book which Ttump is swearing in on, for example. Once again Dees tells many stories in his work. And almost always, he is very accurate.

Beautiful.

Magnificent portrait of Obama. Enlarge it if you wish to study the skill of this fine artist.

Farewell to the Ringling Brothers Circus.

Sorry about this one. LOL. But what do you expect from a Canadian?

Irrefutable logic!

No MAN smiles like that. Sorry but it is just so true.

This is a KIND anti Trump cartoon. Believe me, the stuff in the international media is just horrible, potty-oriented and plain stupid. I show this just to give an example of what is out there that is also not visually offensive as so many of them are.

The thing that wouldn't die.

This joke is not so much funny, because it isn't';
instead it illustrates the power of the smear.

Meanwhile in Europe they are passing laws to protect the rights of robots.

Worth enlarging for the read.

Perhaps because Native Americans had a tradition of oral history?

I believe I would agree with Trump on more things than I would with the current Pope.

A good sentiment but definitely not the one intended by the artist.

 Two men somewhere in Berlin.
Believe me, they are definitely running a risk standing there like that.

The artist drew this as Trump was being Sworn in and making his inaugural speech.
