    That analysis of finished vs. complete should be in all dictionaries. I love language and that was a differentiation of the highest caliber.
    Out East we have a lot of "land whales so I can really identify with respecting fit people. And "precedent of the United States" is a great pun and so fitting these days. I always wondered if I would live long enough to see the "Excited States of 'Merica" go down. Given the rapidly changing events in the world, I now suspect I'll be in at the end for the big show.

    Happy Easter! Regarding the National shame that is the Hariri boy, he was forced on the nation. Lebanon isn’t really allowed to choose their govt, it’s decided for us by the Gulf states and the EU/US. Much of our suffering in the last decade is a soft war attempting to punish the country for 2006, and the Syrian war is just another road to hurt Lebanon (which failed spectacularly btw). This goes back to pre-2005, popular desire to end decades long Syrian occupation and then stir up sectarian hatred against Syria….All in lands once called Greater Syria, with open borders,you know, before 1948. Make what you will of it, but there’s a lot to digest in the politics of the last century in this tiny corner of the world❤️‍🩹 We got bombed on Good Friday in Tyre- the city of Jesus’s miracles.

    There are 120 firearms per 100 residents in the USA.
    So there are a few 100 million people armed in the USA.
    The armed citizens in the USA are the largest army in the world.

    Thanks to our grandparents who surrenders their weapons without question, we're defensless against a tirannical government in Europe.
    Great job grandpa and grandma. Stab us in the back while you're at it...

    "Silicon Valley's AI civil war"....

    Multiple experiments with AI have been cancelled.
    Why?
    Because the AI was getting so smart, that they developed their own language, that we couldn't understand. So we had no idea what they were talking about, or what they were planning.

    So why are people like Billy Gates and Google think they can control AI?
    They probably think if they yell "antisemitic and holocaust" really loud, the AI is gonna stop taking over our nuclear weapons, and won't kill all of humanity.
    But seriously, they think they're so much smarter then the rest of us, they can control how far AI will go.

    You know the 3 rules of robotics, they should also apply for AI, but that won't work.
    - A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    - A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    - A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

    You can replace "robot" with "AI", but you can't control it.
    And yes, Billy Gates, Google and their ilk, are that delusional that they think they can control AI...

    Been telling everyone who'll listen (not that many these days) that the women who are competing must stop & get behind the women who are already doing so. Let the failed men swim, run, whatever . . . by themselves it won't take long for the underlying mental illness to emerge, once the fantacy begins to decay. And WE must back them up - NO ticket sales, boycotting of products, letting them know you are doing it & why & that you're spreading the word. As you rightly point out - enough pressure, they'll cave. Unfortuneately for my grandchildren we are living in rapidly changing times that could go either way depending on a huge number of factors some of which we'll have no clue about.
