Israeli Barbarism in Historic Palestine

The genocide continues.

Palestinian child killed in Israeli airstrike

There’s nothing remotely democratic, lawful, or benign about decades of apartheid Israeli viciousness.

Weeks of Netanyahu regime bludgeoning, injuring and killing of defenseless Palestinians continues relentlessly ~ perhaps much more of the same or worse ahead.

According to Arab News from Gaza City and East Jerusalem:

“Dozens of (Palestinians) died in relentless” IDF terror-bombing of Gaza ~ along with about five Israelis from retaliatory rocket strikes by Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Through Tuesday, at least 43 Palestinians were killed, including 13 children, hundreds injured, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

According to Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry:

His government “reached out to Israel and other concerned countries urging them to exert all possible efforts to prevent the deterioration of the situation,” adding:

“But we did not get the necessary response.”

Instead, Netanyahu vowed to increase “the strength of the attacks and the frequency of the attacks.”

IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said Israel increased its forces along Gaza’s border.

Whether in preparation for Israeli preemptive war on Gaza 4.0, he didn’t say.

According to Israel’s Channel 7 last Sunday, the Netanyahu regime’s security cabinet adopted a plan for large-scale terror-bombing strikes on Gaza in lieu of invading the Strip.

Palestinian Knesset member Sami Abu Shehadeh said Israeli violence against Palestinians is a Netanyahu

“political decision…to keep power.”

If Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett fail in their attempt to secure a Knesset majority, a fifth Israeli election since 2019 will be held.

In response to continuing Israeli violence, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation “praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the occupied city of Jerusalem.”

According to hospitalized Gazan Rashad al-Sayed ~ injured from Israeli terror-bombing:

He and his family endured “a harsh night” of Israeli airstrikes.

They “could not sleep, and when we decided to sleep, the roof fell on us.”

“Israeli warplanes struck an apartment above my flat on the seventh floor.”

According to eyewitnesses, Israeli warplanes heavily damaged an apartment building in Gaza pre-dawn ~ killing a woman, her disabled son, and a man on the floor below, injuring many others.

After another building was struck, its “terrified residents” fled for their lives, “including women and barefoot children.”

Arab News said a “13-story residential block in the Gaza Strip collapsed on Tuesday night after being hit by an Israeli airstrike.”

An injured Gazan was hospitalized ~ his eldest son in intensive care from serious wounds sustained.

In response, Hamas said “(w)e are now carrying out our promise,” adding:

“The Qassam Brigades are launching their biggest rocket strike against Tel Aviv and its suburbs, with 130 rockets, in response to the enemy’s targeting of residential towers.”

Over a decade ago, Political Science Professor Jeremy Salt said the following in response to IDF terror-bombing of Gaza during Israel’s Cast Lead aggression:

“What’s it like, firing missiles at people you can’t see?”

“Does that help, that you cannot see who you are killing?”

“Does it ease your conscience that you are not deliberately targeting civilians,” when, in fact, you are under Israel’s Dahiya Doctrine to use enough “disproportionate force (to inflict) damage and met(e) out punishment” against civilian infrastructure, “economic interests and the centers of civilian power” ~ willfully slaughtering noncombatant Palestinian civilians.

“How does this sit on your conscience?”

“Do you sleep well at night or do you have nightmares of the women and children you killed in their homes, in their beds, in their kitchens and living rooms, in their schools and mosques?”

My comments at the time:

Do you really believe they threaten your security ~ farmers in their fields, mothers with their children, teachers in classrooms, imams in mosques, children at play, the elderly, frail or disabled?

Do you ever question what you’ve done and why?

Have you no shame, no sense of decency, no idea of the difference between right and wrong?

Will you keep following orders blindly whenever ordered by superiors ~ mindless about crimes of war and against humanity committed in flagrant violation fundamental international law?

Salt mocked what he called “(b)rave) Israeli airmen ~ soldiers, sailors, and other security forces, acting lawlessly against defenseless Palestinians.

Targeting civilians is part of Israel’s Dahiya Doctrine.

Named after the Beirut suburb IDF attacks destroyed in 2006 aggression on Lebanon, former Israeli Northern Commander Gabi Eisenkot explained it, saying:

“What happened in the Dahiya quarter of Beirut in 2006 will happen in every village from which Israel is fired on.”

“We will apply disproportionate force at the heart of the enemy’s weak spot (civilians) and cause great damage and destruction.”

“From our standpoint, these are not civilian villages (towns or cities).”

“They are military bases. This is not a recommendation. This is a plan. And it has been approved.”

It prioritizes damaging or destroying civilian structures, economic interests, and centers of civilian power ~ in flagrant violation of international law Israel abandoned before its establishment on stolen Palestinian land.

A Final Comment

According to the Adalah Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel on Tuesday:

It’s “taking legal steps against the illegal actions of Israeli police forces…”

A statement of condemnation added:

“The Israeli police’s dispersal of legitimate protests with brutal force, violent invasions of houses of worship, denial of access to emergency medical treatment and assaults on paramedics and medical personnel, and denial of freedom of movement and worship ~ these are all illegal practices.”

“This is further evidence that Israel’s police forces view and relate to Palestinians in East Jerusalem and across the country as enemies.”

“All Israeli police personnel ~ from the highest command level and down to the violent officers now operating on the ground ~ must be held accountable for their actions, which violate both Israeli and international law.”

Separately on Tuesday, State Department spokesman Price once again expressed support for Israeli crimes of war and against humanity, saying:

“Israel has the right to defend itself and to respond to rocket attacks” ~ by ruthlessly bludgeoning, assaulting and terror-bombing defenseless civilians, he failed to add.

At the same time, he falsely blamed Hamas and other Palestinians of Israeli high crimes committed against them.

Remarks by White House spokeswoman Psaki defied reality the same way ~ while pretending concern for Palestinian rights the US never gave a damn about, and surely doesn’t now.

  1. Squarely on target, Noor. I'm hoping Hezbollah will enter the struggle. It's time to put an end to the genocidal Zionist abomination once and for all.
